I wanted to take some time to say hi, and introduce myself. I’m Kate, and I live in Central Florida with my husband and two little boys. My biggest passions are my family and travel, so this blog seemed like the perfect way to combine the two.
The first trip I took with my eldest son, Harrison, was when he was exactly five-months old to the day. Deciding on the ‘go big or go home’ approach, this trip was a 4000 mile journey from Florida to England with two flights, one of which was a transatlantic red-eye. Oh, and I decided to do all of this solo. I must have been crazy!
The day of departure I seriously questioned my sanity as I stood at the airport with a small baby and more bags than I had when I moved into my first college dorm room. I was 99% sure we wouldn’t make it, and judging by the hysterical wails coming from my baby, he agreed.
But we did make it! Those two flights were Harrison’s first, and he’s now a seasoned traveler. My new baby, Grayson, completed his first flight at just 10-weeks old, and had racked up over 6000 air miles before he turned four-months old. Needless to say, we’re getting pretty used to traveling as a pack! We’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, and had our fair share of ‘what-the-heck-are-we-doing’ moments. But we’ve learned a lot too, and it’s those tips and tricks I’d love to share here. Hopefully I can offer some advice on traveling with little ones; everything from getting to your destination without any tears (from anyone!) to navigating a foreign country with a picky eater. I’ll also be including posts on our favorite places to visit, both locally in the Central Florida area, and further afield.
