We recently returned from a fantastic trip to Niagara Falls and stayed at such a lovely hotel, I thought I’d write a quick review here for other families looking to stay in the area. We stayed at the Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel and Suites, which is located on the Canadian side of the Falls in Ontario. With spectacular views of both the Canadian and American Falls, it is the perfect place to stay for those take-your-breath-away views! Read along for the full Hilton Niagara Falls review!

Hotel review: Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview
About Hilton Niagara Falls: Fallsview
Voted amongst the Top 10 Hotel Room Views in the World by Trip Advisor, the Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview could get by alone on the number one thing visitors look for in a hotel in this area: the breathtaking views of the Falls. But this hotel doesn’t rest on its laurels; alongside the amazing views you’ll find dining, recreation activities, convention space, and more, all housed in a beautiful building with excellent service.
The hotel is just across the Rainbow Bridge that connects the United States and Canada, a 10 minute walk from the Falls themselves, almost exactly between the American Falls and the Canadian (or Horseshoe) Falls; this allows for amazing views both from the ground and up high. We flew into Buffalo Airport to reach the Falls, and the hotel was about a 30 minute drive from there.
Rooms at the Hilton Niagara Falls: Fallsview
With everything from a regular guest room to a deluxe two-bedroom suite with Jacuzzi tub and fireplace, this resort has a room to suit everyone. We were lucky enough to be in the aforementioned two-bedroom suite on the 49th floor, and I can honestly say that there were tears when we had to leave the room to check out!
The suite was incredibly spacious, with the two bedrooms separated by the bathroom and kitchenette area. The master bedroom featured an electric fireplace as well as floor to ceiling windows overlooking the American and Canadian Falls. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub, as well as a separate shower area (this is a must for us when we travel with kids, as it allows multiple people to get ready at once!)
The bathroom window that looked into the bedroom also had a sliding shade that could be shut, allowing for those in the bathroom to have a little privacy (a luxury when you live with young children!) However once the shade was raised, you could overlook the Falls from the bath tub! We found that having the two bedrooms either side of the bathroom area to be incredibly helpful; it meant we could put the boys to bed in one room and now worry too much about noise seeping in from the master.
Since our room faced East, we were able to watch the sunrise over the Falls in the morning, and I promise, there is no better way to rise and shine when your kids wake you at 6am than this! The views were truly indescribable, but I will say that our 18-month old added a new word to his vocabulary during this trip: “wow!”
Dining at the Hilton Niagara Falls: Fallsview
There are several dining options within the resort itself, including Brasa, a Brazilian Steakhouse, and Pranzo Ristorante Italiano, where kids eat for free. We enjoyed the Grand Caffe Breakfast Buffet very much during our stay; both the food and the service were excellent. Our server was very friendly and happily offered some local tips for viewing the area. The food included all of your usual breakfast buffet offerings, as well as create-your-own omelet station, and everything was fresh and tasty.
The Mercato Cafe offered up some great pizza, sandwich, and coffee options that all made for an excellent lunch one day, and the fact that they served Starbucks coffee made this mom very happy!
Their signature offering, however, is a restaurant called The Watermark. Located on the 33rd floor of the property, this four-diamond restaurant offers a locally inspired menu in an elegant, contemporary atmosphere while guests overlook a panoramic view of both the American and Canadian Falls. If you’re looking for a romantic, memorable dining experience during your trip to Niagara Falls, then this is absolutely it!
Activities around Niagara Falls
Obviously the main activity if you’re visiting Niagara Falls is going to be the Falls themselves. There are a number of ways to see them, from helicopter trips over the top, to boat trips into the Falls themselves, to simply walking alongside them to marvel at their incredible power and beauty. Read more on the best ways to see the Falls, as well as everything else you’ll need to know when visiting Niagara Falls with kids here.
Other activities in the area include visiting Clifton Hill on the Canadian side, with a number of restaurants, shopping venues, and other activities. Directly connected to the Hilton Niagara Falls is the Fallsview Resort and Casino, where, aside from the casino itself, you can find a number of upscale shops and dining experiences.
A quick drive over the border takes you to the American side of the Falls, where you’ll find plenty of open space to walk around, as well as walking trails get up close to the American Falls and the smaller Bridal Veil Falls.
If the weather isn’t in your favor, or you’re looking for something to do at the hotel while the kids take a nap, then the Hilton Niagara Falls has a fantastic pool, complete with water slide, as well as a fitness center, including a hot tub and sauna.
Why we loved staying at the Hilton Niagara Falls: Fallsview
Our number one reason for initially booking this resort was location; right across the Rainbow Bridge, a very short walk to the Falls, and we figured the rooms might have a nice view.
Well, we were right on two of those things: the resort was a quick drive from the Canadian border, and the hotel is a very short walk from the Falls.
However we were wrong in thinking that the rooms might have a nice view; they had an INCREDIBLE view! From waking up to the sun coming up over the Falls to watching the different colors of the illuminations of the Falls in the evening, we could not get enough of these views – and it’s hard to argue with a view so incredible that it teaches a baby a brand new word!
Tips for staying at the Hilton Niagara Falls: Fallsview:
– If you are a Hilton Honors member, check the Hilton website when booking for discounted rates – we saved nearly $50 with our member rate on one night.
– Another tip if you’re a Hilton Honors member: present your member card at check in and you might receive a free upgrade. We were bumped from a lower floor to a much higher one, which obviously afforded us a much better view of the falls. Upgrades don’t always happen, but it’s really nice when they do!
